Our Day 7 Operation event had a focus on the importance of social media for business growth and reach.

Through this seminar, Marketing students gathered people from other faculties, teachers as well as anyone who was interested. On rotation, we introduced the different groups to the different social media platforms a business could use to promote itself as well as the techniques and strategies they must include to make it successful and reach their desired target audience.

With a group specified for each social digital platform, the first group was dedicated to Instagram. The team walked the groups through a detailed step by step procedure needed to prepare an Instagram feed, its colors, its content and even its purpose. We then presented to them, through the help of a real life case, the different departments and jobs every department does to make sure that the posts get up on time, are coherent with the message of the brand as well as allow them to reach their target audience.

With the rise and importance of Tiktok these days, we had one of our fellow students, explain to the group the importance of Tiktok and video content nowadays. As an avid user of Tiktok herself, she was able to give them tips, tricks as well as provide them with example of what to do and what not to do while using specific brands as well as insights as proof. With Groups of people ranging from teenagers all the way to adults, we also had to include Facebook. Providing examples of what type of audience are targeted through this platform as well as how brands use it differently than Instagram and Tiktok, we were able to teach each of the groups the boosting process of ads and products on this platform.

Each team allocated time to ensure that the attendees were able to ask their questions as well as have a thorough and as detailed response as ever. We made sure to use examples, provide reasoning behind everything we stated to make sure that everyone could benefit from the information that was provided to them. From Content creation to posting schedules, colors and even the important of hashtags, we were able to give our attendees and glimpse into the world of digital marketing.
