We are proud to announce that Saint Joseph University of Beirut (USJ) has been selected as one of the most innovative universities among the World’s Universities with Real Impact (WURI) for 2022 Rankings.
In addition to ranking 16th in the Top 100 of the World Universities with Real Impact in Crisis Management, USJ made it to the 51-100 list in the Top 100 of the World Universities with Real Impact in Industrial Application thanks to the Start Up for Biopesticides Production project carried out by the Faculty of Science (FS) at USJ. The University was also selected among the 101-200 top universities in the World Universities with Real Impact overall ranking.
WURI is the first global innovative university ranking established to evaluate universities’ flexible and innovative efforts to foster a workforce that meets the demand of industry and society. WURI is organized by the Institute for Policy and Strategy on National Competitiveness (IPSNC) and is supported by four other organizations: the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), the Hanseatic League of Universities (HLU) with 120+ member universities of the world, the Institute for Industrial Policy Studies (IPS) from Seoul (South Korea), and the Tailor Institute of Franklin University Switzerland (FUS) from Lugano (Switzerland). While traditional higher education ranking systems focus on universities’ tradition, reputation, or popularity, the WURI ranking evaluates the university’s real contributions to society, highlighting creative and innovative approaches of universities’ research and educational programs based on the following six categories:
