Pirfenidone as a candidate treatment of polymyositis related interstitial lung disease in a mice model of experimental autoimmune myositis

Description :

Mice are immunized with 1mg myosin extracted from hamster. From day 1 before immunization to 10 days after the last immunization, mice are treated with steroids, or Pirfenidone or placebo. Induced Myositis is evaluated by: muscle strength; antibodies against Jo-1, PL-7, PL-12, Mi-2, Ku, and PM-Scl, and histology for inflammation. ILD will be assessed by evaluating fibrosis markers (Western blot and histology) and calcium signaling in fibroblasts
