Principles of clear writing I

The course introduces learners to the principles of writing, in terms of clarity, ambiguity, unity, coherence and cohesion. Learners are expected to write for a certain audience in mind, maintaining tone, style, and register throughout the different parts of their writings. The course uses examples from a corpus of learners’ and professionals’ written English. In addition to that, learners will be able to write clearly, accurately and precisely based on the MAP (Message/Audience/Purpose) set earlier.
