Good evening, everyone.
For those who do not know me yet, my name is Gaby and it is a true honor to stand here as the newly elected president of AAETIB.
I graduated from ETIB in 2017 and like many of you, I look back with gratitude for the education we received and for the people who supported us at different moments. We did not get here by chance. We all benefited from guidance, kindness and shared experience. My goal during this mandate is to strengthen that spirit and try to give it a clearer structure.
Our alumni community already has everything needed for a strong ecosystem. We have expertise, diversity, a lot of goodwill. What we can try to build now is a more organized way to channel all this potential into collective growth.
Here is the direction we will do our best to work toward.
1) A coordinated professional network and a development pipeline for talent.
We will try to move from informal contacts to clear circles based on specialization and interest. So, whether you work in legal translation, diplomacy, creative adaptation, AI or post editing, you know exactly where to find peers, ask questions and share opportunities whenever possible.
2) Creating a support fund.
Step by step, and depending on resources, we hope to offer financial assistance for at least one extra student and open at least one more door every year.
3) Expanding the visibility of ETIB.
We will try to support a modern and creative relaunch of how the school presents itself. This may include assisting in media campaigns, school activations and workshops so that more people understand what ETIB really offers.
4) A stronger internal bridge within ETIB.
I will personally try to connect one on one with as many students as possible. I want to hear their concerns, their ideas and their suggestions, and work with the administration to address what we realistically can.
At the same time, I want to know your concerns, your insights, your challenges and what you believe we can improve, as well as what you’re willing to contribute. The association should become a space where your voice matters and your experience shapes what comes next.
This is our direction.
Not promises, but efforts.
Not guarantees, but commitment.
Not perfection, but progress.
None of this can succeed if we move separately. So, before you leave tonight, I invite you to connect. Share an idea, an opportunity, or a contact. Join a circle. Even a small gesture can strengthen our community.
Our profession is evolving rapidly. Technology and AI are changing our field and new challenges appear every year. The communities that thrive are the ones that adapt together.
Thank you, and I sincerely look forward to everything we will build, step by step.
