Lebanon at a Crossroads: A Call for Reform and Recovery.
Policymakers, academics, and change-makers gathered at USJ Business School for a high-level conference on economic recovery, institutional reform, and governance in Lebanon.
The day featured bold discussions on:
The roots and impact of Lebanon’s economic collapse
Rescue plans by the IMF, Lazard, Harvard, and the Lebanese government
Pathways to institutional reform and transparency
Strategies to fight corruption and strengthen judicial independence
With keynote contributions from figures such as MP Ghassan Hasbani, Dr. Mohamad Abou Haidar, Dr. Khalil Gebara, MP Ahmad Kheir, Mr. Nabil Bou Monsef, and our Dean Pr. Fouad Zmokhol the panels delivered both insight and urgency.
Organized in collaboration with MEIRSS, Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung and USJ Business School, the event concluded with a workshop focused on turning dialogue into action.
Many thanks to our colleague Pr. Nicole Ballouz Baker for presenting a very enlightening paper titled "Origins and impact of Lebanon’s economic crisis", and for all her efforts in preparing and organizing this conference.
Stay tuned for more highlights and key takeaways from this powerful initiative.
