The Faculty of Dental Medicine (FMD) at USJ has launched a series of initiatives to support students displaced by the ongoing crisis in Lebanon.
1- Student to Student Solidarity*
In collaboration with the Community Dentistry Unit and the FMD Student Chapter, FMD students have established a solidarity fund to support displaced peers affected by the current challenges. This initiative exemplifies the commitment of dental students to help those in need during these tough times.
Students interested in participating can reach out to their respective class delegates:
2- Une Bourse, Une trousse – Toolkit Merit
The goal of this fund is to help FMD students, particularly those facing financial hardship, acquire the necessary materials for their internships, which can be expensive (up to $10,000).
Backed by FMD and the Alumni Association, this initiative promotes equal opportunities and uphold academic excellence while providing essential resources for students' training.
3- Oral Health and Hygiene for Children and Refugees
A partnership between FMD, the Community Dentistry Unit, and Fondation Diane, through the Social Pediatric Clinic, has been established to promote oral health and hygiene among children and refugees.
A special event will take place on Tuesday, December 17, at the Social Pediatric Clinic at HDF, aimed at raising awareness, educating, and offering guidance to those in need.
