The Center for Diagnosis and Therapy in Speech and Language Therapy is a structure attached to the Higher Institute of Speech and Language Therapy (ISO), which welcomes students for pre-professional training courses, closely supervised by speech therapists appointed by the ISO. The internship has both educational and research value. Its aim is to develop the student's clinical approach to evidence-based speech and language therapy assessment and intervention with patients presenting a voice, communication or language disorder (oral or written), considering the patient's context (family, school, other members of the multidisciplinary team). It enables students to learn how to give their best, in terms of assessment, care, parental support and inter-professional collaboration, whatever the patient's age, background or pathology. Thanks to its highly competitive rates, the Center caters mainly for families from disadvantaged backgrounds with low socio-economic status.
