Joanne Kanaan (FS, 2012), co-founder and chair of the board at OMINI, has been selected among the 100 Women in Tech in Europe 2025, an honor awarded by Sifted, SISTAFUND, and STATION F. A graduate of the Saint Joseph University of Beirut, where she earned a Bachelor in Life and Earth Sciences – Biochemistry (2012), Kanaan continued her studies at École Normale Supérieure in Paris, earning a Master’s degree in Systems Biology (2014) and a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (2018). Following her doctoral studies, she joined Entrepreneur First as an Aspiring Founder before launching OMINI in early 2019.
Today, as the leader of OMINI, an innovative company developing biodetection devices for healthcare, Joanne Kanaan exemplifies the spirit of Lebanese scientific and entrepreneurial excellence.
